CIPE, with support from the National Endowment for Democracy, recently concluded a business association management training program in Ethiopia. Twenty-four chambers of commerce and business associations participated in the program, which attracted private sector leaders from throughout the country.
Ato Aschalew Haile, President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce, described the training program as an important step forward in instituting new management systems and enhancing professional skills for Ethiopian business associations. Some of the groups that were represented at the week-long workshop included the Ethiopian Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Ethiopian Tanners Association, and the Ethiopian Private Industrialists Association.
