CIPE Recognizes Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn

At the outset of the conference on "Women: The Emerging Economic Force," CIPE recognized Rep. Jennifer Dunn (R-WA) for her many contributions to supporting women around the world.

John Bohn, Chairman of CIPE, presented an award to Dunn at a June 14 ceremony on Capitol Hill. Bohn noted, "Congresswoman Dunn has done an extraordinary job of encouraging women, business, and women in business. She is a leader for the 21st century, when global business and the jobs that it creates will be more important than ever. We are proud of her many accomplishments, and CIPE is pleased to include her among our best friends in the U.S. Congress."

Dunn is a Board member of the National Endowment for Democracy and is one of five Members of Congress on the Congressional Advisory Board of the International Republican Institute. In 1984 and 1990, under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush, respectively, she served as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Since 1995, she has worked hard to close the "gender gap" in American politics, and in 1998, she made history as the first woman in the U.S. Congress to run for House Majority Leader or any top leadership post.
